The Coordinating Committee meeting to discuss the progress of government projects in Maharagama Divisional Secretariat was held under the patronage of Hon. Samurdhi Saubhagya Week Fourth Phase Samurdhi Benefit Program was held on 2021-12-21 under the patronage of The Minister of Education Dinesh Gunawardena, Leader of the House, Maharagama Coordinating Committee, Hon. Chairman, and the state minister of Samurdhi Home Economic Micro Finance, Self-Employment and Business Development, Hon.Shehan Semasinha.

The winners of the Social Security and Housing Lottery scheme were presented with gold certificates, Samurdhi recipients, livelihood equipment, micro finance micro loans, Arunalu loan scheme through Samurdhi community based societies. The Secretary to the Ministry of Samurdhi, the Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Samurdhi, the Director of the Samurdhi Department, the Director of Micro Finance Bank, the Colombo District Samurdhi Director, the Divisional Secretary and staff of Maharagama, the Samurdhi Manager and the Samurdhi Development Officers were present at this occasion.

Under the guidance of Mrs. Dilrukshi Walpola, Divisional Secretary, Maharagama and Mr. Nimal Dayaratne, Assistant Director, Planning, a Community Service Mobile Counseling Clinic for the fourth week of Saubhagya was held on 2021-12-22 at Neelammahara Jaya Mawatha Welfare Society Hall. The resource person for this was Ms. Nethra Malagoda, Psychological Counseling Officer. This was organized by Development Officer Mrs. N. Yamuna Chathurani Perera and Mrs. K.B Muditha Dilrukshi. In addition, the National Counseling Director of the State Ministry of Samurdhi Micro Finance Small Business Self Employment Home Economic Enterprise Development and the Advisory Board of the Ministry and the Psychological Advisory Team of the Divisional Secretariats of Homagama, Ratmalana and Dehiwala also participated in this mobile clinic.

Aiming to impart the knowledge and experience required for the effective implementation of livelihood development projects under the Budget 2022 Ensuring Home Economic and Food Security through Strengthening the Rural Product Economy A series of seminars in the Maharagama Divisional Secretariat Division was chaired by the Minister of Education, the Leader of the House, the Chairman of the Maharagama Coordinating Committee, Mr. Dinesh Gunawardena, and the Deputy Chairman of the Coordinating Committee, Mr. Upali Kodikara, Mrs. Kanthi Kodikara, Municipal Councilors and Maharagama Divisional Secretary Mrs. Dilrukshi Walpola along with staff officers, field officers of all divisions and officials of other government institutions on 21.12.2021 at 10.00 am at the “Sandawani” Hall of the Divisional Secretariat. Officials from the Ministry of Finance, Small Business Development Training Officers, Product Economics Engineers, Life Successful Entrepreneurs contributed resources for this.
