Ms. Himali Karunarathne assumed duties as the new Divisional Secretary of the Maharagama Divisional Secretariat on 17.03.2025.

After commencing duties at an auspicious time amidst the chanting of Pirith by the monks,

on the same day, the Divisional Secretary addressed the staff and also participated in the farewell ceremony of the transferred Administrative Officer Mr. Kelum bandara.

The Coordination Committee was held on 2025-03-04 at the Maharagama Divisional Secretariat under the patronage of the Honorable Sangha and the Deputy Minister of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs, Mr. Sunil Watagala, and the Chairman of the Maharagama Coordination Committee, Mr. Devananda Suraweera, Member of Parliament for the Colombo District, with the blessings of the Venerable Sangha. The Maharagama Divisional Secretary, Mrs. Dilrukshi Walpola, staff, and officials representing other government institutions also participated in this event.

The Colombo District Main Program for Cultivation of Fallen Paddy Fields under the Agrarian Service Centers Maharagama Program was held on 15/02/2025 the Pannipitiya Krupanisa Division, under the patronage of the Colombo District Parliamentarian of Maharagama Regional Coordination Committee Chairman Devananda Suraweera. Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, Sunil Kumara Gamage, and the Chairman of the Maharagama Regional Coordination Committee, Devananda Suraweera, Member of Parliament for Colombo District, Maharagama.
