Coordinating Committee Meeting of the Maharagama Divisional Secretariat Division on the Recommendation of the Committee on the Reopening of Schools Closed due to Covid 19 was held on 1st February 2021 with the Hon. Chairman of the Coordinating Committee, Hon. Dinesh Gunawardena, Minister of foreign Affairs. Divisional Secretary Mrs. Dilrukshi Walpola coordinated and directed the event which was attended by the Coordinating comitee Vice President Mr. Upali Kodikara, Mrs. Kanthi Kodikara and the principals of the schools in the Divisional Secretariat and other education officials and other government officials.

From September 2018, a weekly meeting was held every Monday morning with the participation of all, where all officers were given the opportunity to address the meeting. Since then, this has continued and in mid-2020 it was temporarily suspended due to Covid 19. This program was re-launched on 1st February 2021 under the patronage of Mrs. Dilrukshi Walpola, Divisional Secretary. Accordingly, 1st of February national flag was hoisted and Mr. R.M.S Bandara, Cultural Officer made an aware to the staff about the importance of Independence Day.

Laying of the foundation stone of the house of Mr. Jayaranga Sampath in the Thalawathugoda East Division of the Maharagama Divisional Secretariat Division under the guidance of Mrs. Dilrukshi Walpola, Divisional Secretary, Maharagama, under Gamata Geyak Housing programme, was held on 2021-01-16 with the participation of political authorities and government officials.

The office of the Sri Lanka Police Security Committee was established on 16-01-2021 in the Liyanagoda Division of the Maharagama Divisional Secretariat Division. With the participation of Maha Sanga, Political representatives , Police Security Committee Officers and Government Officials.

Laying of the foundation stone of the house of Mrs. Chandrika Malkanthi in the 532A Godigamuwa South Division in the Maharagama Divisional Secretariat Division under the guidance of Mrs. Dilrukshi Walpola, Divisional Secretary, Maharagama, under “Gamata Geyak” Housing Program, was held on 16-01-2021 with the participation of Mr.Upali Kodikara ,vice president of the divisional coordinating committee mrs. Kaanthi kodikara Member coordinating committee Mr.Amarapala Wanniarachchi UC member and other public representatives and government officials.
